Membership is open to employees of Air Niugini Ltd, its contractors and service providers including other workers employed in Transport, Hospitality and Tourism industry. Public servants and Private employees can also become members of ANGSL.
Steven Wai

A strategic and values-driven leader, Steven Vai brings a wealth of experience in corporate governance, financial stewardship, and member-focused innovation. As Chairman of ANGSL, he champions integrity, accountability, and growth—steering the Society towards stronger member value, operational excellence, and compliance with evolving regulatory standards. With a passion for empowering people through financial inclusion, Steven is committed to building a resilient and forward-looking credit union for all Air Niugini employees and their families. Steven is currently employed by Air Niugini in the Cargo Commercial Department as the Administration Manager and has 35+ years of association with Air Niugini in different capacities.
Kathleen Mark
Deputy Chairlady
Mrs. Mark has a demonstrated history of working in the airlines/aviation industry for over 18 years, mostly in the capacity of management specifically in Ground Operations Administration, Building Construction, Fit Out Management and Properties & Facilities Management.
She is an experienced Project Manager within the building construction and fit out industry managing the development and practical completion of the Air Niugini Apartments
Sinia Wamala
Director
Mr. Wamala is currently the ERP Project Implementation Manager attached with the Air Niugini Ltds , Finance Department.
He held various management positions within the national airline for over 25 years and had served as the Revenue Accounting and Treasury Manager before being appointed to his current role in Project Management. He has vast experience in Administration, Policy, Financial Accounting, Banking and Project Management.
A holder of various IATA accredited and has accounting background, a member of the PNG Institute of Directors and CPA PNG respectively.
He has been a financial member for the Society for over 15 years, had also served in sub-committee roles with ANGSL before being appointed as a Board Director in 2020. An avid advocate of the Savings and Loan movement in Papua New Guinea.
Peter Dokta
Director
Mr. Dokta has dedicated over 21 years to Air Niugini, serving in diverse roles and currently leading as Manager Sales – PNG Domestic within the Commercial Division. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Leadership from the University of South Australia, a Bachelor of Management from Divine Word University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Papua New Guinea.
An active member of the Air Niugini Savings and Loans Society, he is committed to fostering society growth.
He had the privilege of serving as a Director of the Lae Chamber of Commerce from 2015 to 2016, contributing to the advancement of the local business community.
Mr. Dokta also contributed to the tourism sector as a Board Member of the East New Britain Tourism Authority from 2012 to 2013.
Fredrick Tongogo
Independent Director
He is a professional accountant with 25 years of work experience in four different companies and industries.
He holds an MBA from the university of Papua New Guinea in addition to the bachelor’s degree in commerce specializing in Accounting and Finance.
He is a dual CPA of both Papua New Guinea and Australia, having sat for 15 professional exams in total in both the CPA PNG and CPA Australia programs to attain the CPA status in both professional accounting bodies.
He joined National Airports Corporation Ltd in early 2024 as a Finance Consultant and was then appointed to the Chief Financial Officer role in mid 2024.
He is currently on a Financial Consulting role with the National Airports Corporation Ltd.
